Create a new mailbox database.  Move the one mailbox to it.  See if it fixes the problem.  If it doesn't consider deleting and recreating the mailbox.

Create another new mailbox database.  Move all the other mailboxes to it.

Delete the old mailbox dat

Hi,

How do you release this mailbox? Remove it from registry or use Disable-MailboxQuarantine?

And please check if there are any events related to this problem in application log.

Other information: By default, if a mailbox has been identified as a threat 3 times in 2 hours then that mailbox will be quarantined for 6 hours. These default settings can be modified by creating the following key:

HKLM\SYSTEM\CCS\Services\MSexchangeIS\ParameterSystem\Servername\Private-dbguid\Quarantined Mailboxes

Using the following values:

  • MailboxQuarantineCrashThreshold The number of times a mailbox can be identified before the store quarantines it.
  • MailboxQuarantineDurationInseconds The number of seconds a mailbox remains in quarantine before the store releases it.

If a mailbox has been quarantined longer than the default 6 hours or the time specified in the value MailboxQuarantineDurationInSeconds then it will be released immediately.

Best Regards.

Hi,

Try repair the mailbox. See here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff625226%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

If you want to recreate the user and mailbox, you can use a script I've made for this here: https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/Recreate-mailbox-on-084b663f. It'll export the mailbox to PST, delete and recreate the user account with the correct group membership, mailbox, calendar and sendAs permissions then import the PST. I suspect you cannot do this while the mailbox is quarantined.

There should be an event logged as to why the database was dismounted. Please can you check the application event logs and let us know.

Let me know if this helps you out.

Thanks.
