Well the actual error is "Database backup critical" "Database "Mailbox Database" on server(server name)contains 27 members. This database has never had a full online backup."Im running exchange 2007 on a Server 2008 machine.

This error is due to no full backup of DB for maybe more than 60 days, in your case never. Have you been doing Backups of Mailbox Database?. Please refer to my previous links for steps on how to backup. Also refer http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998488.aspxNitin Gupta (gupnit) | MVP - Exchange | http://www.nitingupta.in/blogs

Also Windows 2008 doesn't have Exchange 2007 aware backup tool so you may need to use some third-party backup software. Take a look here... Backup Assist http://www.backupassist.com/education/articles/how-to-backup-exchange-server-2007.html Additional note: E2k7 SP2 to have NTBackup running on Windows 2008 so you need to wait for SP2 to use free NTBackup tool available with it... Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 2 available in Q3 2009 http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2009/05/11/451281.aspx Details of Exchange 2007 SP2 in-box backup when running on Windows Server 2008 http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2009/05/13/451311.aspx Amit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Yes, you need to do a full backup. Windows Server Backup in WindowsServer2008 no longer supports Exchange-aware backups. Unlike previous versions of Windows Backup, you cannot take streaming backups of Exchange using Windows Server Backup. To backup Exchange2007 SP1 on WindowsServer2008 you must use an Exchange-aware backup application that supports the Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) writer for Exchange2007, such as Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager, or a third-party Exchange-aware VSS-based backup application.Or you could wait for Exchange 2007 sp2 coming soon. Thanks,Elvis
