Mail tracking in Exchange Server 2007
Hi,I am a Server engineer and using Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and want to track a email send by a user 10 days ago. With the help of Mail Tracking i got the details like what is the subject, no. of recipeint (but not find the whole list of recipient details in CC and BCC of that mail) only that shows there is 250 recipients in that perticular mail.Worst thing is that i got those details in abstract form...I am looking for a kind of sollution so that i can view the exact mail which was send by that perticular user on that perticular date.Any one please help...SunilGAIL, Noidaskscore@hotmail.com

Check the step by step of meassge tracking here. I am sure you can see all the recipients here with the Subject but not sure if you can view the body of the emailhttp://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Exchange-2007-Message-Tracking-Part2.htmlRaj

Thanks Dear,But i already tried that link. It gives me some details but not disclose all recipients details... and the body of that perticular mail.Another thing is suppose i restrict a user to send only 15 recipients in a single mail... then that user sends only 15 recipients in a single mail... fine.. now i make a group having 100 users in it ... and now that user sends the mail to GROUP (which having 100 resipients) and he successfully deliver the message....(How come ???????)Is there any option to restrict the send them only 30 recipients at a time???

Hi,In answer to your futher questions.1. Message Tracking will NOT provide the message body of the email - you will need to Journal or go through SMTP protocol logs to get this information. You could also use the Export-Mailbox command with Message Tracking to identify emails and then export to PST to view for example.2. The reason all 100 users get the email is Exchange 2007 does not expand the list, Exchange 2007 will treat the distribution group as 1 recipient.OliverOliver Moazzezi | Exchange MVP, MCSA:M, MCTS:Exchange 2010, BA (Hons) Anim | http://www.exchange2007.com | http://www.exchange2010.com | http://www.cobweb.com |
