Mail queue and Database issue.

Hello,

Two days ago I started to face a long queue and all mails are stuck, but after moving the database from one server to another the queue release the mails????

I searched the event viewer for errors and I found the below;

Event ID: 1023

Windows cannot load the extensible counter DLL MSExchangeIS. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the Windows error code.

Windows cannot load the extensible counter DLL MSExchange ADAccess. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the Windows error code.

Windows cannot load the extensible counter DLL ESE. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the Windows error code.

There is no clear vision for this problem, please advise.

Hi
For the above error perform the below

1. Copy md*.* from "\setup\serverroles\common\perf\amd64" at installation dvd to installed Exchange 2013 (by default "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Bin\perf\AMD64")
2. With admin command prompt go to installed location "cd "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Bin\perf\AMD64"" and load perfomance counter dll "lodctr mdbperf.ini"

Hi,

Looks like the performance counters are corrupt. To rebuild those, follow the procedure

  1. Right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
  2. At the command prompt, type lodctr /r, and then press ENTER.

After running this, check if the events are re-occurring or not?

Can you also run the command from the following syswow64 directory? (C:\Windows>cd syswow64)

Hi,

when I run "lodctr mdbperf.ini" command i receive;

Unable to find initialization file mdbperf.ini

the only *.ini files are eseperf.ini and dscperf.ini

Also I received the below errors at event monitor:

Event ID: 1017  Source: Perflib

Disabled performance counter data collection from the "MSExchange ADAccess" service because the performance counter library for that service has generated one or more errors. The errors that forced this action have been written to the application event log. Correct the errors before enabling the performance counters for this service.

&

Event ID: 1003   Source: Perflib

The object length of an object returned by Extensible Counter DLL "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Bin\Perf\AMD64\dscperf.dll" for the "MSExchange ADAccess" service was not correct. The sum of the object lengths returned did not match the size of the buffer returned.  The performance data returned by the counter DLL will not be returned in the Perf Data Block. The first four bytes (DWORD) of the Data section contains the count of objects.

please advise.

Hi,

Which Exchange version are you used? please upgrade to latest version to testing.
What have you done before this issue arise?

This issue might be caused by dscperf.dll for the performance counters are not the same version or are not correctly updated on the problematic server.

For your question, please copy dscperf.dll from other server which's same with your problematic server, then use Lodctr.exe to restore. More details about it, please refer to: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/307613

Hello Allen,

I'm running Exchange 2013 SP1 CU7, and as I can see from the support link you sent it is talking about Exchange and Win 2003.
