Mail forwarding to contact in Exchange 2007 on SBS 2008
I am fairly new to Exchange 2007, so pardon me if this is a dumb question. I am trying to set up mail forwarding on a Windows 2008 SBS with Exchange 2007. I created a contact with an external SMTP address in ADUC. I go into properties for the user's mailbox and click on Mail Flow. However, when I click on the browse button to attempt to select the contact to foward mail to, it does not show up in the user list. All the standard users show up, but none of the contacts. I have double-checked to make sure I am in the right AD context. I have done this many times in Exchange 2003 on SBS 2003. Any suggestions? Thanks, Mike

I only have E2010 handy right now, but I think it is similar in E2007. You do this in EMC not ADUC. Have a look in Recipient Configuration, and hopefully you'll see a container named Mail Contact. Is your ADUC contact listed in there? It might have been copied to there from ADUC automatically, but if it's not there, this is where you add it.Outlook Web Access For PDA , OWA For WAP www.owa-pda.com email a@t leederbyshire d.0.t c.0.m

You will have to mail enable the contact created in AD. In EMC, Expand Recipient Configuration->Select Mail Contact ->Right Click-> New Mail Contact. The wizard opens. You can select the second option "Existing Contact" and proceed as you already have the AD object created.
