Mail box cleanup policy stop working
We are using exchange 2003 SP2 with two servers(win2003sp1). We had a mail box cleanup policy running every Saturday which moves the mail messages 30 days old from "sent" and "delete" folder to "System cleanup" folder. It has been working correctly till last week when it was noticed that no mail messages was moved to "system cleanup" folder. The admin report shows all the mail boxes have been processed but 0 messages has been moved. There is no error in eventviewer. Rebuild “recipient update service”, tried apply this policy manually and “start mailbox management process” on both of two servers, still no message was moved to “system cleanup” folder even though there are 30 days old messages in “sent” and “deleted” folder. Any clue what caused the problem? thanks

Over the years there have been numerous posts about problems with this feature of Exchange 2003 and I don't recall there ever being a satisfactory answer. That's probably why the feature has been completely redesigned for Exchange 2007 and 2010.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."
