MailMsgAtt

While opening a shortcut to a task in the Outlook Calendar. I get the message that MailMsgAtt isn't installed or isn't responding.

How can I install or stop this Software?

I am using a Windows 7 (x64), Outlook 2013 (x32) and Exchange 2010.

Hi,

Does this issue happen to all shortcut? If it only happens to single task, try to delete the shortcut and the task, and then recreate them again to check the result.

Seems it's an Outlook 2007 issue and had been fixed in the following hotfix:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941275/en-us

But we didn't notice this problem with an Outlook 2013 client. We will monitor on this issue and will inform you if we found something.

Hello,

It happens with all tasks. I even have this problem on different machines, with different users...

I also found that 2007 hotfix, but that obviously doesn't work on a Office 2013.

Hi,

I have the exact same problem i Denmark. After installing Office 2013 I can't open any embedded object made in office 2010. It tells me that MailMsgAtt isn't installed.

Any hotfixes on the way?

Regards

Jesper

Same problem here with 8.1, Office 365, 32 Bit.  Technician did not have an understanding of the problem or issue.  When he signed on to view it, he seemed to have no knowledge of the issue or the fix.  He just seemed to be randomly searching around.  I have had the problem occur and then stop happening with my original installation.  Since my installation of Office 365 32 bit was reinstalled a few days ago, the problem has been consistent.  Rebooting, etc., has no effect.

I am getting this error as well, have been told that to get this error investigated Microsoft want my CC details and potentially change me AUD$380.

Has there been any update on this issue or response from Microsoft?

I am using Office Pro 2013, am getting the error when trying to open an attachment shortcut in an appointment item, the attachment is an email message in my mailbox.

It seems the support side is suspiciously quiet on this one...

I'm having the same problem with all shortcuts to mails in the calendar. Easy to create but don't try to open one afterwards.
