The 25004 is normally associated with trying to re-installa trial on a machine that has had that trial installed. But you say that is not the case
Did you just click "Run" directly when you try the Fixit tool? The Fix It tool might not work if you click "Run" directly, Please try to save the Fix it tool locally and then use it. Even if you think you don't have Microsoft Office installed, run it anyways.
You might also need to try the manual removal steps given in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501? If youve tried only the Fixit so far, try the manual removal steps now. Then restart and reinstall.
