MS Office 2010 default installation folder rename

Hi,

In my company we are using MS Office 2010 and i have an external application which uses Excel to export data in xls files. My problem is that the program is hard coded with C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office as the path where Excel.exe is located. Everything worked like a charm with the older versions of Office, but with 2010 it doesn't work anymore. If I rename the Office 14 folder Excel doesn't start anymore.

My question is... Is there any way to rename the Office 14 folder or change the path from where Excel.exe starts?

Thanx and regards,

Kristian

Hi,

I don't know such a method and either I don't suggest you do this so.

As it seems like a 3rd-party program which uses the Excel function, please contact the developer of it and ask if the path can be modified by some way.

Please also test if this can be a workaround: Create the folder "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office" and create a short cut of Excel in the folder, maybe the 3rd-program will start Excel with the short cut too.
