how big is your Exchange database? what is the amount of physical memory on the server? does the OLM co-incide with the backup schedule. you would want to do a complete online defrag in one of the weekends, and also make sure that the backup schedule does not co-incide with the OLM schedule. this can cause your version store to grow too large and dismount the database.

Hello, Please check if the online maintenance is completing on the Mailbox Stores. Also check if the item count is exceeding the 5000 per folder. In Exchange 2003, the item count limit is 5000 per foder which caused Version Store depletion. http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2009/12/07/3408973.aspx To find the item count limit, follow http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2007/04/24/3402074.aspx. Once the item count limit is reduced under 5000 per folder in the mailbox, we should not get the above mentioned events. Note: The 5000 item limit is per folder in the mailbox and not for the entire mailbox.
