Hi: I keep getting an error in the application log of my exchange server. It is from MSExchange Common, and the event ID is 205. It says No dns servers could be retrieved from a network adaptor whos MAC address is not on the machine. Dns, and internet run fine, and running the Get-NetworkConnectionInfo returns the expected results. I see this adaptor in the registry in several places, and am wondering if it is ok to delete te registry settings. Any help would be appreciated.

Try solution from earlier thread. "Under the EMC I went to Server Configuration, right click, Properties. After a P2V conversion it removed the Internal and External options from the server, it was just totally blank. I put the NIC in there and it brought the DNS servers in. Hi: I tried that already, and just like that thread, initially everything seemed to be working, but about 1/2 hour latter, I started getting the mesages again.

Maybe a possible duplicate IP on the network? Have you checked your event logs for any dup ip conflict? If you can schedule a reboot of the system and when you log back in see if you get the network bubble for a dup IP. The error message below "whos mac address is not on the machine" seems to me that it's a dup IP with another mac having the same IP. Sorry I got a little waylayed. I am not running a virtual machine on the server, have everything disabled that was mentioned above. I have the server name in the hosts file, and DNS is also correct. The issue seems to be more of an annoyance that an actual prolbem, but it sure would be nice to get it taken care of.

Sorry...managed to get sick. Am back now, and am going to attempt to run the hotfix latter today. I will elt you know if that takes care of the problem.

Well, I was optimistic the hotfix would work, but it wouldnt even install - the message said that i didnt need it. I am assuming that is becuase it weas part of a bigger roll up or an update. Still scratching my head.

I have already disabled IP-6 on the cards. Here is the result of running the Get-NetworkConnectionInfo command.
