MSExchangeFDS configuration...
Hi Folks;
I need to remove a reference to a server that no longer exists.
Does anyone know specifically where the ExchangeFDS service reads it's configuration from?
Thanks!

it reads from the OAB generating server and then replicates to other cas servers .
please look at this article for further paths and info

Hi Uday;
Thank you for the reply.
So, if the ExchangeFDS service is trying to connect to a remote mail server for syncronization, where specifically does
the ExchangeFDS service get that information from?
Active Directory? The registry? Does anyone know specifically where that information is pulled from and what the
specific location is?

As the Weblog mentioned, FDS (File Distribution Service) is a new component on CAS and it is responsible for the replication of OAB files from the OAB Generation
server to CAS. It query the AD OfflineAddressBook object to find out which OABs are being distributed on this Virtual Directory.
Then, it will download information from the following location on Mailbox server.
C:\Program files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ExchangeOAB
Replicate the OAB information to the following location on CAS Server.
C:\Program files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Client Access\OAB
Thanks.

you would need to remove the decommissioned server from "servers" container in ADSIEDIT(if it still exists there ). information about servers is available from active directory

Got it cased guys - it turns out I was on the wrong track with my original post here and the underlying issues (which I didn't ask about) was caused by a 'race' condition during services startup.
Thanks very much for your responses though, they are appreciated :-)
