MS-X OUTLOOK - Loss of Personal Conacts - Recovery - iPHONE
MS Exchange Server and iPHONEI synced my iPHONE w/ V3.2.1..My iPHONE duplicated all 'Personal' Conacts and Calendar entries.I them naually deleted the duplicated COntacts from the iPHONE - was not going to spend time doing so in Calendars. The next day I then re-synced - believing I caould correct Calendar dupilcation - it did correct...However - I also deleleted my Personal COnacts - from iPHONE and OUTLOOK...!!!Because the 2nd sync, through iTUNES, satrted immedaitely - I overwrote the previous back-up..Now - I have no measn to recover my Contacts other than searching Company Tape Back-up...I need to recover from several days ago...Yesterday - we attempted to do so - and could not locate my OUTLOOK account. There is a window which seems to be general and appears to do exactly this - recover personal conacts - howver we tried 2X without a result...Any ideas...?? OR - even better - how d o I find my account in the OUTLOOK tree...Thanks....

Hi - if you're synchronizing your iPhone with Exchange, you don't use iTunes at all. Are you using Exchange? If so, your admin will need to restore your data for you if it isn't available via deleted item recovery. Once you've set up your iPhone to sync with Exchange, iTunes shouldn't even try to sync anything, as it reads the config from the device. You might want to ask your IT folks to help you with your iphone setup. When you select Exchange for OTA syncing it wipes out any contacts/calendar data you've set on the iphone, and it will warn you before it does so.Lanwench [MVP - Exchange] ** Do not fold, spindle or mutilate. Hi, I agree with Lanwench, you may need to ask your IT staff for help. Not sure how these contacts are deleted, if you used Outlook with Exchange mode, you can try to recovery them from dumpster: Recover deleted items from any folder http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA011165281033.aspx Thanks, Elvis
