MAPISP32.exe file is missing - SBS 2003 R2 & Exchange 2003 SP2
Hello, We currently have a SBS 2003 R2 server, running Exchange 2003 SP2. Everything seemed to be running fine, however, i was finding hundereds of Event ID 8026's (LDAP Bind was unsuccessful on directory...) appearing in the Event log, though there werent any noticeable issues. To be safe, i downloaded and ran the Exchange BPA to check what was going on. It gave me a critical warning saying: MAPISP32.exe - file is missing and pointed me towards this (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998452(EXCHG.80).aspx) website. I tried to follow the instructions and redownloaded SP2 for Exchange, and tried to run it. However, when i try to go through the reinstallation, and assign "update" in the wizard, i get the following error message: --------------------------- Microsoft Exchange Installation Wizard --------------------------- The component "Microsoft Exchange Messaging and Collaboration Services" cannot be assigned the action "Update" because: Service Pack 2 for Exchange Server 2003 includes an updated version of the Microsoft Exchange Intelligent Message Filter. An earlier version of the Exchange Intelligent Message Filter has been detected on this system and this earlier version must be uninstalled before applying Service Pack 2. What should i do now? Im guessing it wants me to uninstall IMF, but i dont know which version i need to uninstall and how i would do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated Cheers EDIT: Applogies if this is the wrong forum

You can uninstall IMF using Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.Dario Woitasen | MCITP: Enterprise Messaging Administrator 2007/2010

Thanks for the reply. However, the only thing listed in Add / Remove Programs (when i check show updates) i can see is: Update for Intelligent Message Filter on Exchange Server 2003:2010.06.07 (KB907747) Is that what im meant to remove? Or something else?

Based on my research, this issue can occur when you use a post-Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) installation source to install Exchange 2003 on the Windows Small Business Server 2003-based computer. To troubleshoot the issue, please perform the following steps. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/935916 Thanks.Novak Wu-MSFT
