Lync Crashes on Startup Faulting Module KERNELBASE.DLL

I am running Office Pro Plus 2013 x32 on Windows 8.1 x64. This started after reinstalling my computer where Lync was working fine previously so I am deducing it is related to a driver issue.

Ideas I have tried include:

  • Uninstall and reinstall Lync
  • Repair of Lync
  • Remove Office 2013 and reinstall
  • Installed all updates
  • Removing, reinstalling, reverting and updating the following the drivers audio, video and Bluetooth with no success.
  • I removed Lync duplicate updates from control panel --> Programs and Features.
  • Renaming the SIP folder in %APPDATA%\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync

Any ideas on how to resolve this?
