Lync 2013 unable to share desktop

We're trying to use Lync 2013 to talk to one of our satellite offices.

I can initiate a meeting with them and can share my desktop. However when they try to share their desktop they get the following error message: "An error occurred during the screen presentation"

I have found this article - http://www.ucfoc.us/2013/04/lync-2013-unable-to-share-screen-error.html - which suggests that the that problem could be down to one of two updates. We've checked and neither update is present on these machines.

These users are on a separate Office 365 tenant to us.

How do we rectify this issue?

Are you using Windows 7 or Windows 8? I've encoutered that

From Windows 7, Lync 2013 with KB2760556/KB2760512 update, the app/desktop sharing does not work.
From Windows 8, Lync 2013 with KB2760556/KB2760512 update, the app/desktop sharing works.

Actually, Microsoft website has removed the KB2760556 and has a new KB for Lync 2013 client, KB2768004. You may try to install this one to check if the share desktop issue still persists.

Please also update the display adapter driver to lastest version as well. Thanks.

Hi There,

Sorry about the delay responding. I am at the affected office now and I have tried installing KB2768004 listed above.

Lync 2013 IS installed on the affected machines.

When I run the installer I receive the message "There is no software on this machine which is affected by this update."

We still have the same problem.

I can initiate desktop sharing with them. They can't initiate it with us. This particular issue is causing a number of communication issues between our offices.

Our CTO is starting to think we should bin Lync and move to a more robust 3rd party solution but I don't want to have to go down that route.

Why is this question marked as answered? It has NOT been resolved.

I ran into this issue as well, I did try many solutions with uninstalling and reinstalling the KB updates and had no success. I looked into many different settings as well. I then tried a graphics card and installed the graphic card's drivers. I found out that it was the solution and fix, I no longer had the error and was able to share the screen through Lync.
