Lync/Skype just sits at sign in screen after you open it

We have a user where when you launch Lync and have it sign on, it just sits in a connecting state never to connect.  We did an online repair of his Office 2013/365 so he now has skype for business, but the same thing occurs.

What else can we try on the local machine to see if that allows him to sign on?  it was working up until a few days ago.

Hi,

Please try to let another user logon this client, can the second user's account connect successfully?

Since it's only with one client and there wasn't this issue before, we may suspect the user's profile has been corrupted. You can browse to C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync, remove the user's profile, then start Lync/Skype for Business again to check the result.
