Lost adminstrator profile when restoring my son's Gateway computer
I had to to restore my son's Gateway computer (Windows XP) with the Gateway supplied restore CDs. After retoring the computer and getting all the Windows fixes applied (inlcuding the SP 2) I discovered I no longer have a admin user defined on the system. Or at least an admin user profile that I can see. Does any one have any ideas on how I can find out if the system has a admin user defined that I can't see? AND?OR Is there possibly something I did that screwed my system up such that an admin user was not created? And if so, is there a recovery actions I can take to get one created?AND/ORIs there a way I can somehow add admin authority to the only visible user defined in the system? This problem is becoming quite critical as my son's is in desperate need of being able to do some maintenance things on his computer that require admin authority. Thanks to anyone who can give me help!!!!Roger Speerdspee@charter.net

The admin user is always created on windows xp.On the login screen you can choose the admin user (itjust does not appear as a picture) and use the password you chose on the xp installation. Hope this helps
