Looking for best way to change cluster MB servers IP addresses
We are in the middle of a project where we are going to have to change the backend Exchange 2003 servers IP address. Currently we have an Active / Active / Passive Windows 2003 cluster setup. I'm trying to figure out what order to change IP addresses. We do have a 2 hour outage window coming up that we will be using. Here's what I came up with. 1. KVM into the back-ends and change physcial IP address 2. Launch cluadmin and change the cluster IP 3. in cluadmin change the IP addresses for the Exchange virtual name. Does this sound like a plan or am I way off here?

See also Other Resources mentioned at the bottom in the article "How to Change the IP Address of an Exchange Virtual Server." Be very careful. Much can go wrong (it did once for me with an Exchange 2000 Active / Active cluster). I would have tested the procedures in a lab.Changing the IP address of network adapters in cluster serverhttp://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=230356 The Cluster Does Not Start After You Change the Subnet Mask of the Network Adapterhttp://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=258453 Changing the IP Address of a Cluster Adapter May Result in Failoverhttp://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=241828 MCTS: Messaging | MCSE: S+M | Small Business Specialist
