Load balanced SSL Offloading and OWA redirects

Hi,

I'm moving our environment from a single instance of Exchange to two new Exchange servers with a load balancer in front of them.  I have followed Microsoft's article here and also the load balancer manufacturers setup here.  This works for the most part but I'm having trouble with owa site.

Previously in my single Exchange setup when a user would put in mail.mydomain.com it would auto direct to https://mail.mydomain.com/owa/auth/logon.aspx?replaceCurrent=1&url=https%3a%2f%2fmail.mydomain.com%2fowa%2f which is what I want it to do.  But now with the load balanced setup and putting in the same mail.mydomain.com it just goes directly to the default IIS page.

I have tried doing an HTTP redirect in IIS on both servers pointing it to https://mail.mydomain.com/owa but when attempting to login to the owa but it just returns to the login page causing some sort of loop.  It works fine when I'm using localhost.

What can I put in place to make it redirect like it use to?

Hi timestream,

Thank you for your question.

By my testing, we could access OWA by your steps, so we could refer to the following steps to troubleshooting:

  1.        Check if there is redirection in Barracuda, you could contact Barracuda manufacturer to help for your troubleshooting
  2.        Make sure you have configured redirection in the following path: IIS->Default Web Site->HTTP redirect
  3.         Restart IIS and clear cache in client, then check if the issue persist

If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

Best Regard,

Jim
