Live Meeting Conferencing Add-in for Outlook 2007 in Windows 8.1

I am having an issue using Live Meeting 2007 with Office 2007 in Windows 8.1.  The Live Meeting application works, the Schedule a Live Meeting works in Outlook 2007 and when you click on the link in the email to invite other clients to your Meet Now this also works.

However, if I click on the Meet Now addin in Outlook it says it can't find the url.  It brings up a web page that says it can't find the url and that it has been "deactivated".  This is a duplicate of the exact installation I have for Windows 7 which works.

I have checked IE settings, Outlook trust center  and addin settings and I can't for the life of me figure out where the url is getting dropped.

  • Microsoft Conferencing Add-in for Microsoft Office Outlook v8.0.6362.223

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE:  I exported the registry settings on both the Windows 7 and the Windows 8.1 machine and they all appear to match.  Copying the link from the Schedule a Live Meeting email and pasting it in a browser opens the Live Meeting without any issues.

It seems as if the problem is when Outlook sends the link through the Meet Now add-in to IE to get the launch.rtc so is there a setting in IE that truncate the url when Outlook sends it?

My company has no eta on an upgrade of either MS Office or Live Meeting so I really need to get some feedback on this issue.

Thank you in advance to anyone willing to help me.
