Live & Outlook Webmail Through Outlook 2013

Hi All - So here's my situation..

I have a x@.live.com.au email account registered.  I also have and x@outlook.com.au account however I believe this 'May' be an alias. This accound is setup within Outlook 2013 as an Exchange ActiveSync account.

I would like to be able to have the x@outlook.com.au show to senders as the 'Account Sent From' however even when I change the settings in options to have the outlook.com.au account as the primary account, the From address if I were to send to any external account still shows the x@live.com.au address.

Advice would be greatly appriciated, if.. it is possible. :-)

Regards,

Tim

Hi Tim,

When sending emails in Outlook 2013, it doesnt use the default account set in Account settings for new messages. Instead, it uses the account associated with the mailbox or *.pst file you have in focus. Please make sure you have x@outlook.com.au in focus when sending emails.

If you want to always use the default account, you can modify the following registry value to achieve the goal:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Options\Mail
DWORD value: NewItemsUseDefaultSendingAccount
Value: 1

Hope this helps.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the response.

I have tried your first suggestion and this does not seem to matter.

I like the second regedit suggestion... In the situation that it only drills down to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Options

and does not have the "\Mail
DWORD value: NewItemsUseDefaultSendingAccount"

Is it as simple as creating the entry and should be fine?

Thanks,

Tim

Thank you for the update. To answer your question, yes, you can just create the Mail registry key and the DWORD value if they don't exist.

Please keep me updated.

Hi Steve,

No go.. Creating the Key then the DWORD under did not make the change.  It still comes through as @live.com.au.

Just for more info i've attached a snip of my mail settings.

Tks,

Tim
