Linking pages in Visio based on certain criteria

Hi,

This is my (example) setup:

Page 1 (P1) - has 3 shapes: S1, S2, S3. They all link to the next page, Page 2 (P2), which has three other shapes, S4, S5, S6. A third page, Page 3 (P3) has other stuffs in it that is related to the item selected on P1. I will tell you what that means. For the sake of the example, I will also have Page 4 (P4) and Page 5 (P5).

In P1, if I select S1 or S2 or S3, they WILL take me to P2. It is how I want.

In P2, if I select (say) S4, I want it to take me to P3, ONLY IF I have selected (say) S1 in P1.

On the same lines, when I select, say, S5, in P2, I want it to take me to P5, ONLY IF I have selected (say) S3, in P1.

Hope this makes sense.

I have looked all over the internet but couldn't get a hit. Can you help me with this please?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi Nikhil,

Based on your description, you wonder to create hyperlinks in Visio with conditional, it seems that it is impossible to get this result.

The hyperlink in Visio is unidirectional operation by design behavior, you cannot change it.

I suggest you post your issue to MSDN forum about Visio for help, maybe your issue can be solved by using code.

Hope its helpful.
