Linked Mailboxes
Hi We have two forests - our original AD forest (ADForest) running Windows 2008 DC and also an Exchange 2007 forest (ExchangeForest) holding user mailboxes. There are trusts etc set up, but I was wondering how this would all work. For instance, I have a manager's mailbox in the Exchange forest. I want to give an Assistant access to that....do I just give access to their ADForest account? Wil this mean that their Outlook can access the Manager's one?

Hi Joe, You environment: AD forest (ADForest) running Windows 2008 DC Exchange forest(ExchangeForest) holding user mailboxes. Trust has between created between two foreasts. You problem: You have a manager’s mailbox in the Exchange forest. You want an assistant can access the manager’s mailbox. If manager’s mailbox is a linked mailbox and assistant account is in the AD forest, please refer to this similar thread: Associated external accounts Exchange 2007 http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvradmin/thread/496162db-033b-4806-a456-1673aea959dc If manager’s mailbox is a linked mailbox and assistant account is in the Exchange forest, you can just give mailbox “full access permission” to the assistant account: How to Allow Mailbox Access http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996343(EXCHG.80).aspx If I misunderstand you problem, please feel free to let me know.
