Can someone please tell me why the LegacyExchangeDN for alot of our Exchange accounts are set simlar to the following: "/o=First Organization/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=74a4f9cd-e760ef96-ca2570fb-1a4ac5" instead of: "/o=First Organization/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=<username>"? The majority of our Exchange accounts were accounts created during the migration of Lotus Domino to Exchange 2007 using Quest's Migrator for Exchange. Is this likely to cause any issues? And can they be changed without causing email delivery failures? I tried the following resolution on an AD account but it didnt work: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/556074/en-au I did the following: Modified LegacyExchangedn to /o=First Organization/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=<username>"? and added "/o=First Organization/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=74a4f9cd-e760ef96-ca2570fb-1a4ac5" to proxyaddresses. After doing this I received the following delivery failures for the user and reversed what I did: "IMCEAEX-_O=FIRST+20ORGANIZATION_OU=EXCHANGE+20ADMINISTRATIVE+20GROUP+20+28FYDIBOHF23SPDLT+29_CN=RECIPIENTS_CN=74a4f9cd-e760ef96-ca2570fb-1a4ac5@address.com.au #550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.ExRecipNotFound; not found ##"

I didnt select the user from the GAL. I already had the user in my history. In the link above it says to add the old LegacyExchangeDN in as a proxyaddress so there are no mail delivery failures. Please note: In the GAL before the LegacyExchangeDN was changed the users email address comes up as the correct email address and not the legacyExchangedn (I have seen posts regarding this occuring).

Hi, You should add the old LegacyExchangeDN as X500 address in the ProxyAddress. In Exchange 2007, Outlook clients cache the legacyExchangeDN as X500 address to send the email. http://www.simple-talk.com/content/print.aspx?article=628 Thanks Allen
