Large Publlic folder
Hi GuysI have a public folder that is at about 20GB and i want to delete the whole contents without deleting the folder. I have an issue accessing the folder due to its size, what is the best way for me to delete the content of this folder? My issue is that i am running out of drive space and i want to prevent this from happening!I am running Exchange 2003 in a cluster.

Hi,have you triedsetting up the age limit for the folder? To place a set of limitations on a public folder tree, open the Exchange System Manager and navigate to Administrative Groups | your administrative group | Servers | your server | First Storage Group | Public Folder Store. Right click on the Public Folder Store container and select the Properties. Now, select the Limits tab and enter the amount of days you would like to retain.Once that is complete then you could run the maintenance task or wait until the next scheduled maintenance task completes per your schedule.Hope that helps perhapsUltan Kinahan

Hi UltanI don't think setting the retention period would help in my case as our comany uses public folders for CRM purposes. This is also a global setting and i cannot apply this rule across all the folders due to the emails and data kept in these folders. Thanks for the help, i think what i will have to do is tomove the content to a PST file and then when the folder is empty i can delete it.
