Keep Outlook in Offline Mode

Hi all

I'm using Outlook 2013 with 3 exchange email accounts and I would like to decide when Outlook is downloading new E-Mails by clicking on the "Send/Receive All Folders" button.

I achieve this by setting Outlook in Offline Mode.

Once I restart Outlook it will not stay in Offline Mode and I have to set that option after every restart.

How can I make this mode stick?

Thanks for any help.

Hi Sneff
Thanks for your tip. I did this before and it does not work with Exchange Email Accounts.

Thanks, Martin

Hi Nathan

Thanks for your reply. The whole section "When starting" in the General tab is not visible in my Email accounts. Why is that?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Lynn-Li

Both checkboxes are activated.

The section "When starting" is - obviously - still not visible.

Thanks for any help here!

Hello,

Try this, see if it helps you.

  1. Open Outlook 2013
  2. Go to File > Account Settings > Account settings
  3. Select your account and click change
  4. Click on more settings
  5. In the General tab, choose "Manually control connection state" and check the box "Choose the connection type when starting"
  6. Click on Next > Finish
  7. Close the Account Settings window
  8. Close and reopen Outlook

You should then be prompted for which mode you'd like to start in each time.
