Journaling Database Physical Location Recommendations
We are in the process of deploying a new Exchange 2010 Server. We will enable per-mailbox journaling or possibly create one database with all users that messages must be journaled. In any case, I have been tasked to find out if we should place the journaling db on the same drive as the other databases or should it be on a separate drive by itself? Our environment is 300+ users - Exchange will be on a PE2900 with 48GB RAM RAID1 O/S (120GB) with a (300GB) partition for logs. The database drive will be (1.2TB) RAID1+0 Thanks for any guidance, Steve Rowe

Exchange don't have requirement for you to put the journaling db on another driver, but i think it is better for you to put on a separate driver, because when you journling emails for many users, the journaling db size will increase quickly, this may affect other db saved on the same driver.
