Jetstress 2010 does not appear to support E2K7 SP3 running on W2K8 R2 - Is this a known bug?
Hi There, I am currently deploying an Exchange 2007 (E2K7 SP3 on W2K8 R2) upgrade for a Client. I am about to run JetStress 2010 to validate the storage configuration, but have encountered the following error: 20/09/2010 14:40:41 -- Microsoft Exchange Jetstress 2010 Core Engine (version: 14.01.0180.003) detected. 20/09/2010 14:40:41 -- Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise (6.1.7600.0) detected. 20/09/2010 14:40:41 -- Microsoft Exchange Server Database Storage Engine (version: 08.03.0083.000) detected. 20/09/2010 14:40:41 -- Microsoft Exchange Server Database Storage Engine Performance Library (version: 08.03.0083.000) detected. 20/09/2010 14:40:41 -- Unsupported version of C:\Program Files\Exchange Jetstress\ese.dll detected (version: 08.03.0083.000 64 bits) for this version of Windows. 20/09/2010 14:40:41 -- Ensure that you are running this application as a member of built-in Administrators security group. 20/09/2010 14:40:42 -- MSExchange Database or MSExchange Database ==> Instances performance counter category is not registered. SP3 enabled support for Exchange 2007 on W2K8 R2, but it would appear that JetStress 2010 has not been upgraded to support the new configuration. I have also tried using JetStress 2007, but this produces the following error because it does not support W2K8 R2: "You need Windows 2000 Server Sp4 (or later), Windows Server 2003 (or later), or Windows Server code name 'Longhorn' to install Jetstress" When will a new version of Jetsress 2010 be released to support E2K7 SP3 on W2K8 R2? This is currently holding up my deployment, as I need to validate the storage before going into production. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Rob Fothergill
