JetStress with Symantec EndPoint Protection

Hi All,

We are having issue with JetStress 2013 testing with SEP installed. We have put in all the JetStress directory as excluded from SEP and also Exchange Directories based on JetStress field guide.

But what we are finding is it gets hung at "dispatching transaction ends" stage. If we remove SEP then it completes okay.

Any feedback whether JetStress is having any specific issues with SEP or possibly we are missing any further exclusions?

Thanks,

Abhi

Maybe you are learning something important from JetStress, that you don't want SEP installed on Exchange Servers.

JetStress is not a system emulation tool like LoadGen is.  It's designed to work the storage subsystem.  It makes no sense to install SEP or any other antivirus on a system you're testing with JetStress because it adds no value to the test whatsoever.

It would make sense to install SEP when running LoadGen; that might just show you how much SEP slows down your I/O capacity.
