Issues with removing ADC connection agreements associated with Exchange 5.5 in order to install Exchange 2007
Hello,I have an issue which I need sorted out regarding the removal of an old exchange 5.5 ADC connection agreement from an exchange 2003, and a 2003 native AD environment in order to install exchange 2007 SP1.The answer I get from most posts from the error message is to delete the config_ca connection agreement in ADSIEdit. The problem is that there is no such record in this section of ADSIEdit. When installing exchange 2007 I get this error message:"Microsoft® Exchange Server 2007 setup cannot continue because one or more Active Directory Connectors have been found..." It points to the following article which states to remove the ADC connectors:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997967(EXCHG.80).aspxI run through this procedure though it errors out when I try to remove the active directory connector service component. The error message is as follows:Setup is unable to continue as it has detected that there are one or more Connection Agreement(s) associated with this Active Directory Connector. You must first delete the Connection Agreement(s) or configure them to run under a different Connector service before attempting to remove this Connector service. ID no: c10361b7Microsoft Active Directory Connector SetupTo delete it I try to do the following: Start ADSIEdit. Locate the following object: Configuration naming context\Configuration Container\CN=Services\CN=Microsoft Exchange\CN=Active Directory Connections Make sure that no Connection Agreements that start with "Config_CA" exist in the CN=Active Directory Connections container. If a Connection Agreement that starts with "Config_CA" appears, right-click that Connection Agreement, and then click DELETE. However the only CA's I have in that container are:CN=RecipientsI am not sure how to remove the CAs required after this.Any help will be much appreciated!Regards,Chris.

Hi,I got in contact with MS support and they advised me that I could just delete the CN=Active Directory Connections folder. I did so after running a system state backup, ran the ADC removal software again and this time it removed the components fine. Installation of EX2007 is now possible.Cheers,Chris.

Thanks for that Chris. It has saved me a whole lot trouble with Exchange 2010 SP1 setup.
