The other day I was unable to install the Hub Transport role onto a Windows Server 2003 DC. It would fail with a MSExchange Transport failed to start error. Some of what I could find on this issue was a possible authentication issue. The solution that I used wasmaking the computer account in active directory a member of the domain admin group. It does not make sense to me why I would have to do this, but if anyone can give me there thoughts it would be much appreciated. This was also the second Exchange 2007 that I installed and the first one installed with no issues and the servers are in separate sites. If wanted I can post the Event Viewer logs that I have kepted based on this. Thanks,
