Issue with OAB Synchronization
Hello, we're getting the following OAB synchronization errors on Outlook 2003/2007 clients: 21:47:34 Microsoft Exchange offline address book 21:47:34 Not downloading Offline address book files. A server (URL) could not be located. 21:47:34 0X8004010F The errors just started coming up a week ago, and was not an issue previously so I'm not sure what changed to cause the sync issues. The server is an SBS 2008 Operating system (CAS and Mailbox Server roles are on the same server), which is a new server box migrated from SBS 2003. The OAB generating server was changed from the old SBS 2003 to the new SBS 2008 server, and web based distribution is enabled. I've included the results of the Get-OfflineAddressBook cmdlet below: [PS] C:\Windows\System32>Get-OfflineAddressBook | fl Server : SERVER AddressLists : {Default Global Address List} Versions : {Version2, Version3, Version4} IsDefault : True PublicFolderDatabase : SERVER\Second Storage Group\Public Folder Databa se PublicFolderDistributionEnabled : True WebDistributionEnabled : True DiffRetentionPeriod : 30 Schedule : {Sun.5:00 AM-Sun.5:15 AM, Mon.5:00 AM-Mon.5:1 5 AM, Tue.5:00 AM-Tue.5:15 AM, Wed.5:00 AM-We d.5:15 AM, Thu.5:00 AM-Thu.5:15 AM, Fri.5:00 AM-Fri.5:15 AM, Sat.5:00 AM-Sat.5:15 AM} VirtualDirectories : {OAB (SBS Web Applications)} ExchangeVersion : 0.1 (8.0.535.0) AdminDisplayName : Name : Default Offline Address List DistinguishedName : CN=Default Offline Address List,CN=Offline Ad dress Lists,CN=Address Lists Container,CN=JHS CA,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Confi guration,DC=domain,DC=local Identity : \Default Offline Address List Guid : 8455d570-6ec9-4499-b77d-ae17c197df19 ObjectCategory : jhsca.local/Configuration/Schema/ms-Exch-OAB ObjectClass : {top, msExchOAB} WhenChanged : 14/06/2010 10:16:41 AM WhenCreated : 18/11/2004 4:23:40 PM OriginatingServer : SERVER.jhsca.local IsValid : True

Hold the Ctrl key and click the Outlook icon in the system tray, select Test E-mail Autoconfiguration. Enter your e-mail address and password, clear the Guessmart checkboxes, and then click Test. Look for the OAB URL. Test it in a web browser. -- Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." . Hello James, I've reviewed KB 905813 and confirmed that the setting for the OAB in Exchange 2007 is set correctly. I've also confirmed that Distribution is set for public folder and web-based distribution under Oganization Configuration. I've attempted a full OAB download on a client and received this error: (0X8004010f): The operation failed an object cannot be found. However, I was not able to see event 27 in the application logs after multiple download attempts of the OAB.
