Is this the main Microsoft Exchange 2007 forum site?
Seems pretty quiet for sucha big release.

I agree, many of the questions I have posted do not have any reply at all. I wonder if any of the MS staff or MVPs are monitoring the Exchange forums. Perhaps, it is near the holiday season....

They do reply generally, just maybe a few days later. I can see why not a lot of people come here, its not particularly easy to find!

Well they do link it from the Microsoft Exchange site and technet site, but yeah MS do need to do more to "advertise" this forum. Also, it would help if we have a seperate Exchange 2007 and legacy Exchange section. It is confusing to have all sorts of Exchange posting in one section and sometimes, the forums even get totally un-related post like Vista related questions.

There are several of us here, watching, reading, responding, etc. Do you have any suggestions as to how we could advertise the presence of these forums more? I know a lot of folks are also asking and answering questions in the public newsgroups, too. We do try to clean out the non-Exchange posts, but that takes a little time.

I see there is a link to this forum from the Exchange 2007 page! However it obviosuly was not how I found it. I came here through a web search, and even then it was difficult to find. This page definately needs tidying up: http://forums.microsoft.com/ The forum on the popular site www.msexchange.org seems pretty quiet too. Maybe people are focusing their attention on Vista and Office 2007.

I understand that some of the MS folks and MVPs are actively monitoring the forums and I appreciate it, but it is no good if many of the post go unanswered. People will just leave the forums if this contiunes. If people are posting on the Newsgroups instead of this fourm, shouldn't you guys consider consolidating the posting into one channel. I don't think a lot of people like to cross post on 2 diffrent places and to check 2 different locations for answers. It is just a duplication of effort. Another thing I find annoying is I can't edit my own post, when I tried that, it always give me an error. Maybe it is just me but it could be a widespread problem.

If this truly is the Exchange 2007 forum, I'd suggest changing the top level name of the forums from "Exchange Server" to "Exchange Server 2007" It really isn't all that clear that these forums are Exchange 2007 specific other than seeing terms like "LCR" & "CCR" in the individual forum descriptions.

These forums are not limited to Exchange 2007. Questions about other versions of Exchange are also welcome. There's also the newsgroups at news.microsoft.com, which are quite active, as well.

If you have a question sometimes you need to be a little persistent and to provide a little more. Tips to post a good question: Be clear about the problem, don't leave any detail out. (Exchange version, service pack, OS, client type, etc) Post any needed logs (cleaned up if needed). Were there any changes to the environment that happened prior to the problem? List the steps it takes to reproduce the problem. Be specific on what you have done to fix or test it. Subscribe to thread updates and respond to any questions that are sent back as soon as you can. It's good do a to search to see if someone elser has had a similar problem first but don't always expect that someone has had your problem before... so post it, it might help someone else. There are a large number of people that hang around here (and a few other places like the newsgroups) that truly want to help. The Exchange community is one of the strongest that I have experienced.

We are not saying that people should not post Exchange 2003 related questions here, but basically by mixing both products in a single forum section is just making finding that answers you are looking for harder, making this forum less useful. Is it too much to ask msft to create a seperate formum section for Exchange 2003 and 2007? Other countries' technet forums categorize the 2 Exchange version seperately. Eg. Technet Brazil http://forums.microsoft.com/Technet-BR/default.aspx?ForumGroupID=188&SiteID=29 Cheers

These forums should be separated into a Legacy Exchange section and an Exchange 2007 section. Exchange 2007 is so different from Legacy Exchange Servers that most are still running that there should be no need to have it all joined together.I personally found these forums by accident and agree as well that there isn't enough participation from Microsoft. I think that bugs need to be acknowledged here and they should be logged, labled, and even moved to a separate section so that people can look up bugs and missing features that are acknowledge by Microsoft. The value of the IT sectors opinion and input is Microsoft's greatest asset in TechNet. I feel like Microsoft has been passing this up in my monitoring of the responses I have received.Just hoping that these forums can achieve their potential.
