Is there a way to have two separate Exchange server accounts to use the same mailbox?
Let me start with my objectives: I want to maintain two separate email accounts i.e. myName@myDomainX.com and myName@myDomainY.com In Outlook or my iPhone, I want to be able to send emails out of both accounts. If I'm conducting business for company X, I then want to send emails out myDomainX.com. Or if it's a matter involving company Y, I then want the emails to go out of myDomainY.com. I want to maintain one mailbox and one calendar so that I can find what I'm looking for in one place and see any calendar conflicts in one calendar. My Exchange account is hosted by an Exchange hosting company. Currently I have one Exchange account with them and they let me set up the second domain as an alias. The problem with that approach is that only one account is set as default at a time. So if I want to send an email from myDomainY.com, I'd have to go into control panel and set myDomainY.com as the default so that my emails will appear to go out that domain. I don't mind getting and paying for a second account but then I'll end up with multiple inboxes and calendars. I don't want that either. I want everything to go into one inbox and one calendar. What is the right solution for me? Is it possible to have two Exchange accounts but use only one mailbox? Thanks, SamThanks, Sam

Sam, I occasionally see requests for such functionality (2 different SMTP e-mail addresses, but appear as a single Inbox). Unfortunately, this is not something that Exchange can easily do. If you have 2 accounts, you need 2 different mailboxes. Unless someone knows a better solution, I think you are going to have to have 2 different accounts/mailboxes. By the way, the "account" is a user account in Active Directory. Each mailbox must have a user account. A mailbox can have many different e-mail addresses. A second account can be given access to the mailbox. Jim Jim McBee - Blog - http://mostlyexchange.blogspot.com
