Is there a way to force font size, color, type when pasting text into Microsoft Word template?

We are using Office 2013. I have a Word document template built into O365 that I would like to do the following when opened by authorized users:

1) someone opens the template and is only allowed to edit certain fields

2) When typing or pasting text into these fields, the font automatically is set to a pre-determined format (size, color, type)

I have the template built but I am not sure how to accomplish the above two items.  Any thoughts?

Thanks,

JARED

First, the way to use a template is not to OPEN it but rather to create a new document based on it.

Second, assuming your users will all be using Word 2007 or later, you would want to put the places where people can enter text in Plain Text Content controls. In the Content Control properties, check the item to format inserted text using a certain style.

Then restrict editing under the Developer Tab or the Review Tab. You would the restriction to be No Editing with exceptions. Those exceptions would be the Content Controls where you want people to be able to t

Thanks Charles.  The first suggestion you made will not work as I cannot upload a template into SharePoint and create documents off of the template as I am using SharePoint 2013 O365.  At least, I don't believe I can accomplish this.  I did, however, create a template using Word and added Content Controls.  This seems to work for the controlling font properties.

I will upload the template document into SharePoint and create an approval workflow.  I am hoping that somewhere in the workflow I can specify to create a copy and leave the master un-edited.

Thanks,

I have no experience with Sharepoint. If vba is an option, it is possible to include an AutoOpen macro in a template that automatically creates a new document based on the template and closes the template when it is opened.
