I found someone sent me an email successfully but not found in my mailbox and Exchange 2003's journal mailbox, but I found the recordin smtp log file. Is that possible Exchange 2003 missed some emails in journal mailbox?

Usually it doesn't miss, moreover it shows in smtp or message tracking then it should be delivered. Do you have any outlook rule running on journal mailbox? The journal mailbox does not have any rule for deletion. Mail seems quite old, 4/26/2009. Did it happen with any mail recently? If so... Well, if you don't see mail in mailbox then you can recover it either from Recover Deleted Items (aka dumpster) before deletion of 7 days (by default setting is 7 days if you didn't change) or after deletion of 7 dasy you need to restore if from backup. Does it show in Recover Deleted Item? I am sure the email was not deleted in the journal mailbox. Becuase I will archive it everyday for last day and I will not open both archive file and the journal mailbox.
