Is keeping .pst file on a LUN (ISCSI) drive is unsupported for Outlook 2007? Can this be the reason indexing for same never completes.

Hello,

We have Outlook 2007 installed and configured for almost 60 users on one server. Pst's are kept on a network drive for few users and others have their pst's on ISCSI LUN drive mapped to machine. My query is, is this configuration supported?

We have been facing issue with indexing and search capabilities are also heavily affected (most of the times it doesn't work).

I am not sure I would agree with this assessment in regard to iSCSI. iSCSI protocol is not the same as a network share protocol. Yes Microsoft does not support PST on network share for reliability reasons of the protocol.

There is support for booting entire OS environment for servers and pcs from iSCSI. Processing is done at the PC and all of the software and data is going over iSCSI connection. Is Karl suggesting that in this scenario if you were running outlook and using PSTs that this would be unsupported?

I do not think so.
