Is it possible to prepend the Organizational Unit name to the External Display Name?
I have Exchange 2010 SP1 handling multiple domains, with employees from their separate domains logically separated by Organizational Units in Active Directory. I'd like to change external email correspondence to show as:
From: Organizational Unit 1 - John Doe
From: Organizational Unit 2 - Jane Smith
etc...
I've found a good amount of articles on changing the external display names, but none quite address what I'm looking to do.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

I don't know how to to do that any other way than changing the display names. I don't know if a transport rule would do what you want, but I doubt it. I think you're looking at some custom code.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hi:
You can use simple Display name to show user john Doe(ou1) Jane Smit(ou2).But you have to fill in it by manual or script. EMC->recipient configuration->mailbox->properties->user information

If two experts make the same suggestion, then it seems that it is the way to go. Thanks for both of your answers!
