Is it possible to block Images in the body of messages?
Basically what I want to accomplish would be server sided. We have a helpdesk emailbox created that users submit support requests to. This mailbox is then monitored by 3rd party software to generate support tickets based on incoming emails. In an effort to reduce the footprint of this mailbox on our exchange server(exch 2003), I would like to know if there is a way to prevent all images aside from those specifically attached to the email to be filtered out of the message as it crosses the server. For example, a user submits a support request with an attachment image of the error they are receiving, included in their email is their colorful signature image. We want to receive the attachment of the error, however we do not want their signature to show.

You would probably have to code something on your own or maybe there are 3rd party products. Nothing built in to Exchaneg 2003 that can selectively strip attachments. slipstick.com may have something.

I've been browsing around slipstick for a bit, and haven't been able to find something to do the trick. We however do have an exchange 2010 server up that we plan to migrate to down the road, would what we are trying to accomplish be possible on 2010, because if so, we can migrate this box early.

You can strip attachments with the Exchange 2010 anti-spam agents and hub transport rules: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124399.aspx However, it may not give you the granulaity you are looking for as far as embedded images. That still sounds like some custom coding or forcing all the messages to plain text perhaps...
