Is any option available in protecting password with outlook application.

Hi Support,

Is there any option available in outlook 2013,2007 to protect with password.

Three users are using a single computer. One user is having email account and other two users doesn't have the email account. When other users are using the computer they are reading the emails in outlook. The emails are configured in outlook.

I want to put a password for outlook application so that if anyone click on the outlook application,it should ask for a password.By putting the password only, they can able to open the outlook application.

Please let me know is there any option available in protecting the password with outlook application.

Hi,

There is no logon password for the Outlook program itself, but we can set password for your PST files.

If the user is using a POP3 email account, just right-click the top level of the mailbox (it should be xxx@domain.com) > select Data File Properties > click Advanced button > click Change Password button, then, enter a password in the New password box and type it again in the Verify box. Click OK. Restart Outlook and you'll be prompted for a password.

If the user is using an IMAP or an Exchange account, we can just create a new PST file (Account Settings > Data Files tab > Add...) and then add a password to the PST file.

Dear Steve Fan,

Thanks for your reply.I understand that we can put the password for only PST files and there is no option for putting the password for outlook applications.

Thanks for your support & reply.
