Is Exchange causing email corruptions?
Network of 75 users, Exchange 2007, Outlook 2007. We are having a large amount of internal emails causing Outlook to crash. For example, If a user sends an email to 5 users it may cause 1 user's outlook to crash. Or just simply sending 1 user to another. It may work for one email, but the next could cause Outlook to crash. We have one user that it seems every email she receives from this one particular user makes her email crash anytime it tries to open the email. Outlook displays a message stating it has to close unexpectedly with a checkbox to restart outlook. We have a work around where you can open Outlook in Safe Mode and delete the message. But, soon after another email will arrive that causes the same behavior. It has started to happen more and more, and I now have a user that states it happens about 20-30 times a day. Is Exchange causing these emails to become corrupt? Or is this strictly an Outlook thing?

do you have any Outlook add-ins installed. If so then try disabling them one by one until the problem goes away. I suspect it's an add-in PeterPeter O'Dowd

Or is this strictly an Outlook thing? If it works in safe mode you probably have a bad add-in installed on the clients. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Quote: “We have a work around where you can open Outlook in Safe Mode and delete the message” Could that recipient access/open the problematic message in the safe mode? If so, please check the Add-ins as suggested in the posts above Quote: “every email she receives from this one particular user makes her email crash” Does the issue only happen for the specific sender? Please check if the problematic message can be accessed via OWA Please compare the problematic message and the working message, like message format, size Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
