Is Adding and Manageing Exchange 2003 tabs to ADUC in RSAT for Windows 7 possible or NOT?
Is there a supported way to add exchange 2003 tabs to RSAT for Windows 7 ADUC or are we being forced to seperate ADUC and Exchange account management if we move to Server 2008 R2/Windows 7 while still on Exchange 2003?

You can try this option. http://windows7forums.com/windows-7-support/5168-windows-7-rc1-exchange-admin-rsat.html But not sure about the support policy. Take a look at the following KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/931903?p=1 Santhosh Sivarajan | MCTS, MCSE (W2K3/W2K/NT4), MCSA (W2K3/W2K/MSG), CCNA, Network+ Houston, TX http://blogs.sivarajan.com/ http://publications.sivarajan.com/ This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Thanks, nice try. I already went through all of that and using WINDOWS 7 Enterprise RTM 32bit with RSAT and all other pre-requests already done, I could not get the exchange dll's to register fully, they came back with "no entry point" errors. And it broke rsat (aduc) until I unregistered them all. And yes I read that article also. I have come to the conclustion that this is simply the breaking point where they are not going to support exchange 2003 tabs in aduc any further. The paradigm shift has occurred and they have seperated exchange account managment from aduc and the only options under my scenario at this point appear to be: Scenario: Large corporation; Upgrading nearly 1000 XP clients to Windows 7 RTM - Enterprise prior to or nearly at the same time as upgrading domain from 2003 SP2 to Server 2008 R2. YET having to keep a 2003 SP2 member server and Exchange 2003 (because there are plans for email managment that requires us to keep our 2003 exchange system in place a bit longer and then drop exchange from our domain altogether, I hear our email is going to be handled by a different domain...eventually. So my only options appear to be: Option 1: Keep XP clients and older Admin tools for new accounts administrators if we want to keep the current exchange accounts setup methods (create a mailbox account dialog and exchange tabs in ADUC). Option 2: If the new accounts setup administrators upgrade to Windows 7 and RSAT then they will have to do part of user setup in ADUC and then be given rights to remote into the exchange 2003 server to setup mailbox accounts through Exchange Management tools on the server. Yuck! I'm not going to have fun explaining this to Management. But I have looked long and hard and tried these work-arounds that were made for Vista and Win 7 RTC and I can't get them to work. If anyone else has please let me know.

Yes. Then you need to go with your option 1 or 2. Santhosh Sivarajan | MCTS, MCSE (W2K3/W2K/NT4), MCSA (W2K3/W2K/MSG), CCNA, Network+ Houston, TX http://blogs.sivarajan.com/ http://publications.sivarajan.com/ This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.

Please look at the Exchange Support Matrix, there we found that for Windows Vista: Only with Exchange 2003 System Manager for Windows Vista. It is not supported to run with Windows Server. Exchange System Manager for Windows Vista http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=3403d74e-8942-421b-8738-b3664559e46f&displaylang=en Exchange Server Supportability Matrix http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee338574(EXCHG.80).aspx So for this issue, I think if you only have Windows 7, then you have remote administrate the Exchange Server with proper rights.
