Iphone Calendar and Outlook Exchange randonmly not syncing appointments
I have an iPhone 3Gs and we use Outlook Exchange. Recently some of my appointments stopped syncing over the air with my iPhone. It happens randomly. It can be appointments occuring once or recurring. The only work around I have found is to invite myself for the appointment. When I do, I get an email like a meeting request that tells me no response is required because I am the meeting organizer. When I click that I am told my calendar has been updated and the meeting request will be deleted. If I say okay, it is deleted out of my inbox but then it also deletes it from my phone. It remains on the calendar, on outlook web exchange but not on my phone. I have restarted my machine, my phone, reset network settings, reset sync history in Itunes, deleted the calendar, added it back, change how far to sync back, deleted the entire account, added it back . . . An Apple tech said I may have to reset the Outlook sync service in Outlook or on the server. I am not sure how to do that. I have a tech that I can call who can help me but we are still in search of a tech with extensive knowledge as we will soon have to upgrade to a 2007 server.

Issue description: Some meeting requests can’t be synced from mailbox to IPhone occasionally, the only workaround is to set the mailbox user as the organizer in the meeting request, in order to trigger the calendar update on the IPhone. Please correct me if I’ve misunderstood the issue Is there any related trace in the IIS log? Is there any related event in the application log on the exchange server? When the issue started to happen? Is there any change occur for exchange server or IPhone during that period? Does the issue happen to all IPhone? Is there any other mobile device, like windows mobile? Can any other change (Modify the message body) trigger the update for the calendar items, instead of set you as the organizer? You can use the Emulator inside the environment and attempt to reproduce the issue, using test accounts and the same data. This to determine if the issue is Data related, account related or environment wide Resources: Installing and running Windows Mobile emulators Troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange 2003 ActiveSyncJames Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com
