Internet relay problem
Our 2003 exchange server is sitting in our 192.168.98.x subnet. We have a SAN and some other management interfaces on another private subnet of 192.10.1.x There is a simple linksys firewall between them, with the WAN port being on the 192.168.98 subnet Our Dell SAN and Dell Blade chassis won't send mail. To be precise, the SAN will send email internally but adding an external email address results in no mail. The Chassis cannot send mail at all. We have Toshiba Remote D units that can send mail internally as well. I've added the subnet and the speicific IPs of the private network units to the allowed relays list in Exchange, but to no avail. Is there something I'm missing in Exchange that's still preventing mailfrom leavingthe company? And why would the Toshibas send mail and the Dell chassis won't? I've explicity used the Exchange server's IP address in the mail configurations of all devices. At the very least mail should go internally.

Can you run a traceroute from the Dell to the Toshiba and visa versa, ping the alternate subnets successfully? If not look to the computers routing table as well. It sounds like you may need to set some persistant routes in order to facilitate packet traversal. Where is the bridge for the two networks?
