Intermittent email outages outlook 2013
Recently I have had some users complaining that outlook 2013 on their desktop computer is not receiving emails for long periods of time.  They will receive an email on their phone but not receive the same email on their computer for a long time, some times more then 30 minutes go by.  After restarting the outlook client the problem seems to go a way for a while but in some cases it comes back.  I have checked and rechecked the send/receive settings on all reported computers and have found nothing out of the ordinary.  It appears that the service for outlook 2013 stops running from time to time.  All of my clients are running outlook 2013 and they are connected to an in house 2013 exchange server.  Has anyone else seen or heard of this problem?  Does anyone know what a fix might be for it?

Hi,

This issue may occur for one or more of the following reasons:

  1. You have not installed the latest updates.
  2. Outlook may be in use by another process.
  3. A previously installed add-in may be interfering with Outlook.
  4. Your mailbox may be too large.
  5. You may need to repair your Office programs.
  6. Outlook data files may have become corrupt, or damaged.
  7. Antivirus software may be outdated, or conflicting with Outlook.
  8. Your user profile may have become corrupt.
  9. Another program may be conflicting with Outlook.
