Intermittent distribution list problem
My company's Exchange 2003 server is having an intermittent problem with email sending to distribution list. Checking the message tracking log and it seems that the Exchange server never tried to expand the list and that happens to all of the list. Anyone know how to fix the problem? Thx, Terence

Hi, Expansion Serer is exchange type Server which be responded to expand distribution list, you can specify a Distribution Lists(DLs) expansion server to any exchange Server on the ADUC. Nerveless, Expansion server obtain DLs membership from the configured GC. Based on my experience, the issue may occur for below situations. 1. Expansion server and GC performance issue. 2. The GC dont hold the membership information of Distribution list. For the first situation, you can troubleshooting by specifying another expansion server on the ADUC and also specify another GC in the same domain on ESM for a test. For the Second situation, if you have multiple domains, I suggest you would better create mail-enabled universal scope Group. Although local and global group are present in Global catalog, it may not have their membership attribute. Therefore, the expand DL may be a failure if it refer to a GC which in another domain. Hope it helps, anything is unclear, please let me know. -Jason
