Integrating my cloud storage provider with Office 2013

Hi All,

I have integrated our cloud storage provider with Office 2013 following this article https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35474.

I could  find my storage provider as a service in Office applications.

i added my cloud storage provider as a place in Microsoft Word 2013.

Now if i save a document in my place using the browse folder, it saves the document. But the recent folders list is not shown or updated with my last save.  Is it a limitation ?

I checked with One Drive it is working properly.

Thanks and Regards,

Saurav

Hi Saurav,

Do you mind help me with some information first:

 1. What Could Storage service you are using?

 2. By "But the recent folders list is not shown or updated with my last save." Do you mean that it doesn't show Date Modified or new items are not displaying in the folders list?

From your discription, i suspect the sync is not working as expected. Please check if the local folder shows the latest update. If so, please restart the Cloud Service, see if it works.

If restarting the service is not working, please provide me above information, so i can check further. Thank you.

Thanks a lot Chloe for replying.

I am using SAP Mobile Documents to add as a cloud storage service provider.

I have installed the dekstop client for SAP Mobile Documents which has synced the file onto the cloud.

The local file does show the latest time stamp.

So even after saving i get "You have no recent folders" under recent folders list.

Please let me know if you need any further information.

Best Regards,

Saurav

Hi Saurav:

Thanks for sharing the information. Do you mind to point out for me which Product I should install to get the SAP Mobile Documents service. So i can test it from my side see if it's a expected behivior or something goes wrong.

Hi Chloe,

SMD is an enterprise product which requires separate usr name/pwd. Though it can be setup but its best if you run the following .

I figured the same issue with the Dropbox storage provider. Probably you can test with Dropbox by running the script as mentioned here https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/Add-Dropbox-and-Google-35a71b9d .

You can download the script attached in the link.

cheers,

Saurav

Hi Saurav:

I tried above scripts and it loaded Google Drive in available places. But I ended up with an error "Sorry, we're having server problems, so we can't add Google Drive now. Please try again later."

I did some research found this article has been discussing this issue. And they mentioned that it might has something to do with one update. May I ask you one more question:

Was the issue started all of a sudden? if so, what was changed

Meanwhile, I will keep checking from my side and keep you posted. Thank you for your understanding.

Hi Chloe,

Appreciate your persistent help a lot.

Did you try dropbox ?. You need to have Dropbox dekstop client being installed and then run the scripts.

I always had this error.

Saurav

Hi,

Sorry for keep you waiting. I've tested outside our company domain and with my personal account, I still got the same error.

As you mentioned that you've tested Dropbox, it is the same behivior as SAP Mobile Documents, right? I wonder if this is a given behavior.

For you to get a sufficient support, I suggest you to contact our Premier Support team at the moment. Meanwhile, I will keep checking from my side. Thank you for your understanding.

Good news! After about a month of back and forth with several MS tech's, the issue seems to have been resolved! It was an issue on Microsoft's end. I was able to demonstrate using Fiddler what url was failing to respond correctly and they were able to correct the problem.
