I am running 32bit windows and 32bit office. I have a rather large access 2007 database. Sometimes I run into an error messages that says insufficient system resources. I've been able to get around it by closing all programs I have open. I was wondering if switching o 64 bit windows and 64 bit office would allow me to run this access 2007 database better. Would I have more of the system resources then? What exactly is the system resources it is complaining I am running out of?

x64 windows/office will allow you to allocate more memory to the application, if available

So do you have to change a setting in 64 bit office to allocate more resources or will that happen automatically when you switch to 64 bit and add memory to the computer? Also does system resources mean memory or is it something else?

If you dont have office x64, you will have to install it. If it is x64, and memory is avaialble it will request more as it goes along.

I will suggest you monitor exactly what takes up your resources. It might as well be that your device isnt powerfull enough.

Resoruces are mainly memory, harddisk and cpu. Typically you will get warnings when there is no memory left, or the device cant allocate more space to the pagefile
