Hello there.

I've just purchased a new Hewlett Packard laptop today as my Toshiba one basically died.

Trying to install Office 2010 - purchased back in 2010 - but I can't get the product key recognized.  Indeed when I go online, they seem to think I'm trying to install Office 2013.

I can't see,m to tell them that it's 2010 I'm trying to get activated.

Any thoughts?

What you can try is activating by phone. If that doesn't work just call MS Support and tell them what's going on. They might be able to help you further.

Make sure that there is not a trial version of Office 2013/365 already on the computer.
